Chetrit-Kaufman Hit B'way-Lafayette

New, 2 comments

Hotelier Joseph Chetrit and architect Gene Kaufman are on record to transform a Noho building with two faces into a 294-unit hotel. The most interesting thing we learned after reading about Chetrit's plans was that the massive, wide, 8-story, brick loft building at 404 Lafayette Avenue and the ornate, 10-story Northern Renaissance Revival sliver of a building at 708 Broadway are one and the same. Chetrit's hotel will connect Broadway and Lafayette in Noho. [NYT]
