Geodesic Space Pods Land on the Met's Roof

These steel and acrylic modules make up "Cloud City," this year's installation on the roof of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Designed by artist/architect Tomás Saraceno, the installation is the artist's vision of a futuristic flying city, and starting on May 15, visitors will be able to take a twisty staircase 20 feet up into this alternate reality. Saraceno told the Times that in his mind, "the whole thing will go into orbit," so enter at your own risk?you could be zapped into outerspace.

Head over to the Times for more images of Cloud City being installed.
