Last time we checked in on Transmitter Park in Greenpoint, Brooklyn the waterfront oasis was barely more than a dirt-covered construction site. Now the 1.6 acres of green space at the end of Kent Street is just about ready for its public debut. In fact, it looks so close to being ready that a couple dozen eager park-goers have already been lounging on the lawns and biking through the paths. Heather of New York Shitty walked through the space yesterday, but one of her commenters pointed out that the park is not actually open yet: "At around 8:30 P.M. today a local lady was calling 911 on all the people in Transmitter Park in Greenpoint because its not open. 311 and the construction comp dont care. She told me they broke the lock on the gate. I told her there is not any lock nor is there a chain."
