Soho residents are fed up with tourists, and sidewalk vendors, handbill passers, traffic, bike lanes, exhaust, buses, chain stores, film shoots, street events, noise, overflowing trash cans, and cigarette butts. "It’s a horror. Everybody wants to make money down here, like we’re whores." A flip-flop-wearing tourist from New Jersey bumped into a woman on the sidewalk the other week and she punched him in the face, knocked him to the ground, and began kicking him before cops had to intervene. Tread lightly in Soho. The cast iron district is shaping up to be this summer's powder keg. You have been warned.
