More Than 430 Abandoned Bikes Plague NYC

New, 4 comments

Rusty bikes, with their parts pilfered, are common sad sights on New York City's sidewalks, and WNYC's Transportation Nation recently asked the masses to help them map the many bike carcasses strewn throughout the city. The result? More than 400 photos of sad broken bikes, now compiled in this Google map. The sites range from solitary dented frames to bike graveyards stacked six to a bike covered in plastic wrap (seriously). You can see the 12 saddest photos here, or you can indulge in all 431 photos on Flickr.
