Parties: We like them! Invite us to yours!
Event: Penthouse party at The Story House, 36 East 22nd Street
In the House: Developer Laurie Zucker and marketing personnel from Manhattan Skyline, brokers
Dress Code: Smart casual, unbuttoned.
Music: None. Probably smart to go without, as music can sound weird in an unfurnished apartment.
Menu: Smoked salmon, vegetarian quesadillas, shrimp, crab cakes passed around. Veggies and desserts off to the side.
Overheard: "What's going to happen to that couch in [staged] #2? It's so comfortable; I love it."
Agent Nitza Shafrir-Zinbarg, ushered guests up the just-completed staircase from the Story House's penthouse to its private roof deck, where the Met Life Tower appears to serve as the building's own wall clock and Art Deco massing fills out the horizon. Down 22nd Street is the Flatiron Building and on a nice evening it is difficult to head back downstairs. All the other units at The Story House are bought and occupied, except for the 8th floor unit, Penthouse A, and the 2nd floor staged unit. Each unit is a complete floor of the building and the elevator opens into apartments' living rooms.
