A surprise bidding war erupted over a Bay Ridge building at yesterday's Brooklyn estate auction. The building went for $2.82 million?76 percent over the starting bid of $1.6 million. And there was drama involved, too: the public administrator called out the wrong paddle number, forcing him to reopen bidding. The ultimate winner was an employee of Thor Equities, but it's not clear whether he was bidding for himself or for the company. [Malcolm Carter; previously]
