New, 1 comment

CONEY ISLAND?Who said amusement park rides are just for humans? On June 16th, pets will be able to experience the magic of Deno's Wonder Wheel for the 2nd annual Pet Day and Pet Costume Contest on the Coney Island Boardwalk. Billed as a chance for "a birds-eye view for every dog, cat, fish and snake in town, from atop the NYC Landmark Wonder Wheel." Pets ride free, but humans must bring two cans of cat or dog food as an entrance fee. Pre-registration is required. [Curbedwire Inbox; Full information]

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS?A group of students from Parsons The New School for Design, in collaboration with the NYC Parks Department, will spend the summer reconstructing and enclosing the lobby at the historic Highbridge Pool and Recreation Center. Called "Highbridge in_flux," the new space will unify the existing structures, allowing for year-round programming. [Project website;previously]
