The Pen and Brush Club townhouse tried its hand at marketing itself as a celebrity-worthy residence to people like Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick, but the townhouse at 16 East 10th Street wound up selling for considerably less than its initial $14.9 million asking price. The ink is now dry on the sale and the 8,475-square-foot townhouse built in 1848 sold for $11.2 million to an unnamed buyer. The last asking price prior to the sale was $13 million. The 19th century townhouse was home to the Pen and Brush Club for almost a century, before the club decided that its operations would be better served in a different, more cost-efficient facility.
