Mercedes House Subway Ads; Cool Roofs NYC Kicks Off

New, 4 comments

WEST SIDE?Despite being three avenue blocks from the nearest subway station, the Mercedes House is trying to lure straphangers to be future tenants. A tipster sent us the above photo of an ad for the building on the F train, which is an odd line to advertise on, considering the F goes up Sixth Avenue. [Curbedwire Inbox; previously]

HARLEM?More than 85% of the units in 5th on the Park have sold. The 28-story tower, managed by Halstead Propert, has studios, one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom apartments, many with private outdoor space, still available. Sizes range from 666 to 2,386 square feet, and prices range from $475,000 to $1,725,000. [Curbedwire Inbox; previously]

FLUSHING?To kick off the third season of Cool Roofs NYC, Buildings Commissioner Robert LiMandri will begin painting the roof of Queens College in Flushing tomorrow. The program encourages business owners to paint their black tar roofs with a white, reflective coating to help reduce heat gain and save on energy costs. Since 2009, 2.6 million square feet of rooftops have been given the white coating. [Curbedwire Inbox]
