Photographer Sets Price Per Square Foot Record in Red Hook

New, 17 comments

Photographer Mirabelle Marden is the new owner of Red Hook's 17 Dikeman Street, and her wallet's a little lighter?and the neighborhood's pricing expectations a little heavier?as a result. Marden paid $1.55 million for the property, or $775/square foot. Broker Eva Zurek tells The Real Deal that's a neighborhood record. The 2,000-square-foot carriage house previously belonged to German architect Thomas Warnke, who spent $760,000 on it but decided to sell because "he wasn't attached to the property." His detachment might pay dividends for Zurek, who not long ago listed her own house on Dikeman Street for $2.595 million.
