It's been nearly four years since plans for a hotel were announced for Williamsburg's Union Triangle, and finally, things are moving forward. Brownstoner reports that the Getty gas station at the corner of Metropolitan Avenue and Union Street has been demolished (only the signage remains), and the DOB approved work permits for the site. Thomas Gilman's plans for the development have morphed slightly from a six-story, 54-room hotel to a five-story, 52-room hotel. No details yet on when the hotel is expected to be up and running.
