The Department of Transportation-hosted Summer Streets festival will take place on the first three Saturdays of August (the 4th, 8th, and 11th) and will feature a 25-foot climbing wall, free bike and rollerblade rentals, and a 160-foot-long zip line across Union Square. The zip line was taken out for a test run this morning and DNAinfo was on hand to take some pictures, mostly of adults who (surprise) look pretty awkward riding a zip line, but seemed to enjoy the experience. The Department of Transportation commissioner rode twice. One little girl was not allowed to ride because she didn't meet the 60-pound weight requirement, so, parents, start fattening your kids up now. You have a month.
