Farewell to the Flaming Cactus; Support the Seaport Museum

New, 2 comments

NOHO?The neon zip tie art that has brightened Astor Place since last summer is finally coming down; a tipster sent in a couple photos of the plastic ties being taken down this morning. The installation, created by Animus Art Collective, was called the "Flaming Cactus," and it was part of the DOT's Summer Streets program. If you missed it, not to worry. Animus has partnered with the Hudson Square BID to deck out 23 poles along Spring Street. [Curbedwire Inbox; official]

FINANCIAL DISTRICT?On Saturday, June 30, Amanda Palmer will be giving an intimate benefit show on the newly-opened top floor of the South Street Seaport Museum. Ticket cost includes snacks and an open bar with beer provided by Brooklyn Brewery. Only 200 tickets will be available and proceeds go toward the museum. [Curbedwire Inbox; ticket details]
