Sofia Coppola and her family purchased a lovely West Village townhouse in February, and their buy was promptly followed by the listing of their previous property, a 2BR, 2BA loft at 161 Grand Street. Coppola and her husband, Phoenix front man Thomas Mars, were hoping for $2.75 million for the property. And they got exactly that, according to public records spotted by The Real Deal. If only we could all be so lucky.
The place Coppola and Mars are selling sounds, frankly, rather lovely, if not quite as nice as the place they're probably moving to. From the 161 Grand listing's brokerbabble:
The key-locked elevator opens directly into the apartment where the high ceilings and the over-sized windows create a dramatic first impression. There is a dining area in the large living room making a well-proportioned space. The loft is a split two bedroom, each with en-suite marble baths?.The state-of-the-art kitchen is open and has all top-of-the-line appliances including a wine cooler. Other features include custom closets, central air conditioning, an individual hot water heater and a washer/dryer?.There is a common roof garden for all owners to enjoy. · Sofia Coppola sells downtown apartment for $2.75M [Real Deal]
