A Chance to See the W Downtown Lounge; Dogs Love Amenities

BATTERY PARK CITY?If you've been dying to get inside the W Downtown Hotel, but don't want to shell out for a room, here's your chance! The hotel, in partnership with Grand Classics, is hosting a special summer screening series, New York in Film, curated by designer Isaac Mizrahi and director Spike Lee. The screenings will take place in the hotel's 31st floor residential lounge, and there will be spiced popcorn, a 1960s-themed candy bar, and a cocktail bar. This is the first time that the lounge is being opened to non-guests. The first screening will show the film "Sweet Charity" next Wednesday, June 27, and tickets are $30. All proceeds benefit charity. [Curbedwire Inbox; official]

UPPER WEST SIDE?The launch of New York's first ever in-house luxury dog concierge service was a hit with the four-legged friends who were lucky enough to attend. Rose Associates hosted the event at the Ashley and the Aldyn, two of the buildings where Spot Experience is rolling out the pup-pampering service. The evening's entertainment was watching the dogs work their tails off in the agility course. [Curbedwire Inbox]

DOWNTOWN BROOKYLN?A tipster tells us that management at the Brooklyner is putting a cap on the number of residents allowed in the public lounges due to safety issue. After residents voiced concern about a super crowded 4th of July last year on the rooftop terrace, management decided that the maximum occupancy for each lounge is 125 people. On major holidays, the occupancy will be strictly enforced by security guards. [Curbedwire Inbox]
