The 2012 legislative session in Albany ended last night?without a vote on the extension of $445 million in property tax abatements to some apartment owners. (Governor Cuomo wouldn't allow the vote because the bill included a few other topics, such as changes to the Loft Law.) The Department of Finance has already sent out bills that assume the abatement will be extended, and the legislature will probably extend it retroactively, so don't freak out, tax-abated folks.
