The Readery, the new newsstand in the lobby of the Standard East Village, will sell rare books and periodicals by 1960s authors?and 1960s-inspired sunglasses. It's more of a concession to the neighborhood's history than any made by predecessor the Cooper Square Hotel, so we guess that's a good thing? Maybe locals should stop there for something to wear to the next Landmarks Preservation meeting on the East Village's historic district designation. [Racked NY]
