Big Hirt Strikes Again!

A word of caution, rich folk: don't forget about your storage units. Trophy property collector Michael Hirtenstein sold his penthouse in the north tower of the Time Warner Center in 2007?but he never sold the storage unit in the south tower that went along with it. Now, according to the condo board, he owes $2,895 in unpaid common charges and late fees for the space. The board is suing to foreclose on the storage unit and resell it to someone who will, uh, actually pay the bill. Big Hirt's defense: "If you know my name in the real estate circles you’ll see that I wouldn’t duck out on $2,500 — certainly not when the storage unit can likely be sold for upwards of $50,000 or maybe more."
