More Renderings of DS+R's Crazy Cascading Tower for Columbia

New, 4 comments

Since Diller Scofidio+Renfro released the renderings for their planned 14-story tower for Columbia's medical school, the design has been the talk of the architectural town. One Curbed commenter described it as "vertical roadkill," and the New York Observer declared it the "craziest building in Harlem." The Observer also got their hands on a few more renderings of the building, most of which show the "study cascade" that's the heart of the design, and the biggest point of criticism. DS+R worked with Gensler on the design, and the 3.5 year construction process should begin in early 2013.
