Jay-Z and other celebs may be beautifying 300 of New York City's iconic water towers with murals, but artist Tom Fruin is one-upping them by crafting a glittering, kaleidoscopic water tank atop his Dumbo studio. The 14-foot-tall plexiglass and steel structure will sit on top of 20 Jay Street, a 12-story art studio building near the East River waterfront. Starting next week, the mock tower will light up like a stained-glass window each night for a year, giving anyone on the Manhattan Bridge something pretty to look at.
