The founder of Coney Island's annual Mermaid Parade, a Mardi Gras-esque march down Surf Avenue, is suing Duane Reade for using the 30-year-old parade's logo on an online ad without his permission. The mega chain sent out an email blast with the image hawking sunscreen and urging people to go to the parade. DR gave a ho-hum apology, saying "We're sorry if he's upset, but it's giving his event positive exposure." [BK Daily]
