How's this for a micro apartment: a hotdog vendor has been sleeping in his cart outside the Met so he does not lose his space directly in front of the museum's steps at 82nd Street. Thanks to "an arcane state law," Dan Rossi, a disabled former Marine has held the prime real estate for seven years without paying the city a dime. Someone recently tried to steal the spot, which is why Rossi now sleeps on a lawn chair with his feet sticking out of the cart's door. [NYT]
