Instagram Penthouse at 250 Bowery; Prewar Goes LEED Gold

LOWER EAST SIDE?250 Bowery looks better through an artsy Instagram filter. At least that's how it seems, as the building reps have sent along more renderings of the condo building with the app's faded coloring and negative border. The images show a light-filled penthouse with a large opening on the second floor that looks down onto the lower level. Reps also say that 550 people are already on the waiting list. One and 2BR loft condos start at $700K, while duplex condos begin at $2.7 million. [Curbedwire Inbox; previously]

UPPER EAST SIDE?1212 Fifth Avenue is the first classic prewar building in New York City to receive LEED Gold certification after a comprehensive renovation, according to the building's representatives. Ninety-nine percent of the existing structure was reused, and the building received improved insulation and highly efficient windows, among other things. 1212 Fifth Avenue also boasts the distinction of being one of the best-selling buildings in the first quarter of 2012, and it was featured on Million Dollar Listing. It's just racking up the accolades! [Curbedwire Inbox; previously]

CROWN HEIGHTS?A Curbed operative sent over the above photo of the new, larger sidewalks in front of the empty lot at 341 Eastern Parkway. The stalled site sold back in April, and the community-painted construction fence came down about a month later, probably to make way for the sidewalk widening. Before, the construction fence went all the way to the edge of the sidewalk, and pedestrians had to walk in the street, separated from cars by a wooden and mesh barrier. Perhaps this means construction on the site will actually start in the next millenium. [Curbedwire Inbox]
