"Hate to break it to everyone but there are no ocean cables that land in the Manhattan area. Local arrival points stretch throughout the New Jersey and Long Island coasts, and our surface network routes the remainder. I don't think local telecoms take chances with running riverbed cables in this area, either. The optic lines that travel the road river crossings (so much easier to install) are more than enough to get the job done. Power cables, however, do transit the riverbed."?BrianVan [Mapping Manhattan's Internet With Underground Fiber Optics]
