Peter Madoff's Park Avenue Co-op Hits Market for $4 Million

There have been more than a few homes belonging to persons named Madoff that have hit the NYC market in the past few years. Hey, it's tough to hang onto real estate once your Ponzi scheme is discovered. The latest Madoff dwelling to come up for sale belongs to Peter Madoff, Bernie's brother, and it's located in 975 Park Avenue. Peter Madoff's wife has listed the place for an even $4 million, the Journal reports, a $100,000 smidge less than the Madoffs paid to buy it in 2004.
The Madoffs turned the apartment from a 3BR into a 2BR (plus maid's quarters, of course). But it "could easily be restored to its original 2 bedrooms," according to the listing. The proceeds from the sale will go straight to the U.S. Marshals Service; Peter Madoff will go straight to jail. Do not pass go, do not collect $200.
