After all its metaphorical fires, we never gave much thought to the possible actual danger of fire at Stuy Town. The Tenants Association did, and finds in a survey that only four of the 110 buildings in the complex are free of fire code violations. More specifically: fire doors don't close properly, there are locked and chained standpipes, and there are non-code-complaint window panes in the fire doors. You do hate to see that.
