A tipster wrote in to point out that the roof has been removed (along with parts of the top floor) at Steelworks Lofts, the former Williamsburg steel factory at 76 North 4th Street. The building?we swung by for some photos, collected in the gallery above?is in the midst of a residential conversion by Jacob Toll, son of Toll Brothers chairman Jacob Toll. The finished building will have 83 rental units, with asking prices around $60/square foot, plus rooftop gardens, a sunbathing patio, a bocce court, and a barbecue pit.
Our tipster sent along some DOB diagrams illustrating Toll's makeover of the building. So here they are!
