A Pyramid of...PB&J

Work is underway on Bjarke Ingels' magic mountain at 625 West 57th Street, and the Journal visits the architect's Chelsea office to learn more. In the process, the paper comes up with one of our favorite descriptions of the building so far: "To maximize the number of units on sites, developers typically need to build tall and square structures. But it's difficult to do this with an interior courtyard? To solve this dilemma Mr. Ingels did to the building plan what most parents do with a peanut butter and jelly sandwich in their child's lunchbox: He cut it diagonally, into triangular forms." Oh, and Ingels put a food truck on the 12th floor of his office building. [WSJ; previously]
