Public Art for 150 Charles Street; Buying into Brooklyn

We're closing up shop early today to enjoy the sunshine, but we'll be back bright and early tomorrow morning. Happy Friday!

WEST VILLAGE?The massive construction site at 150 Charles Street is now less of an eyesore. The Witkoff Group covered the drab plywood construction fencing with 21 giant photographs by artist Jan Staller. The photos depict constructiony urban landscapes like chain like fences and barricades, but it a much more aesthetically pleasing way. The development has been in the works since 2000, so neighbors are thankfully that Witkoff is trying to make the site a little more bearable. [Curbedwire Inbox; artist website]

BROOKLYN?The first "Buying into Brooklyn" workshop was so popular that a second has been scheduled for August 1. The $10, two-hour long workshop goes through the steps to buying a home, focusing on the Brooklyn market. The panel will feature four experts: Realty Collective founder Victoria Hagman and Realty Collective agent Tina Fallon; real estate attorney and partner Michael Moshan of Gold Scollar Moshan, PLLC; and private mortgage banker Janet Younkman of Wells Fargo. You can submit questions beforehand. Bonus: the event is held at Brooklyn Brewery, so there will be libations! [Curbedwire Inbox; tickets]
