Own a Bonkers Oceanfront Mansion in Brooklyn for $9.75M

We get it; you completely dropped the ball on your summer rental plans this year. And frankly, just the prospect of hopping into Hamptons traffic, or getting on a bus with this idiot could curdle ice-cold lemonade. How about directing your attention to Manhattan Beach in Brooklyn, where this almost-$10 million beach house is a potential life preserver for your summer. The property with 170 feet of Manhattan Beach waterfront is just east of where Brighton Beach ends, and replaces the boardwalk and public beach of Brighton with a lush green lawn, an infinity pool, and a large koi pond.

The two-and-a-half-story house is 6,000 square feet and has four bedrooms, along with a lot of areas to entertain, including a rooftop barroom and jacuzzi, and a cabana alongside the pool. If the decor seems a little Crockett & Tubbs, it's because the seller is a NY real estate developer whose heart clearly belongs in Miami, where he owns another home for which he is leaving Brooklyn, according to the Times.

The house just went on the market and the summer is still young. It's a little more than nine weeks until Labor Day, and the drive from midtown Manhattan to this house is under 45 minutes.
