Two Williamsburg Condos Enter Into a Deadly Struggle

New, 7 comments

Imagine you have around $700,000 to spend on an apartment and you've narrowed it down to two fairly similar condos. How do you make up your mind? The answer is simple: you shove them into a metaphorical cage and let them battle it out until one emerges victorious. It's time for another Real Estate Deathmatch. (Trying to decide between two places in real life? Send them in to the tipline and let complete strangers make this very important decision for you.)

Address 238 South 3rd Street #3 100 Maspeth Avenue #6A
Price $699,000 $619,000
CC/Taxes $546 $865
Square Footage 1,032 816
Beds, Baths 2, 1 2, 2
Floor 3 6

There's no denying that 238 South 3rd Street has character, with its sixty-foot-long living room, whitewashed wall of exposed brick, and weird bathtub. It also has over 200 square feet on rival Olive Park (100 Maspeth Avenue.) However, its second "bedroom" is lacking in size, and it only has one bathroom to Olive Park's two. Olive Park is a much more standard place, but still nice, and it's in a full-service building with a gym, common roof deck, billiards lounge, heated pool, etc. Also, it's overlooking a small park.
