OHNY Adds Nine New Sites for Openhouse Weekend 2012

Mark your calendars?fall highlight Openhouse New York will be held on Saturday and Sunday, October 6-7, and nine new sites have been added to the line up this year. The two-day event opens hundreds of sites across the five boroughs to the public for free, giving us access to private homes (of architects!), rooftop farms, the fanciest skyscrapers (hello, One Bryant Park), and more. This is the 10th year that OHNY has brought New Yorkers behind the scenes of our city's buildings.

Here are the new sites: The Four Seasons restaurant in the Seagram Building; the Gustafsson-Wells House, a private residence on Staten Island designed by McKim Mead and White; Prospect Park's under-construction Lakeside Center; Museum of Reclaimed Urban Space, "a living archive of the Lower East Side's squats and gardens"; the Park Avenue Armory; the newly renovated Public Theater on Lafayette Street; the new sustainable and affordable Bronx housing development, Via Verde; and the private residence of architect Haiko Cornelissen, the Wall-All apartment.
