New Affordable Housing in The 'Burg Should Fit Right In

New, 28 comments

With a list of finishes and amenities that sounds like yet another gentrifying condo development on Williamsburg's gold coast waterfront, 15 Dunham Place is an affordable housing development at 389 Kent Avenue that should fit right in to the new Williamsburg. The building is being constructed through the Mixed Income Housing Program of the New York City Housing Development Corporation and applications are being accepted for 79 apartments that feature bamboo flooring, granite countertops, an outdoor roof deck, fitness center, onsite laundry, a residents lounge, and bike storage. Perhaps so as not to undercut more conventional for-profit developments along Kent, StreetEasy employs some blunt anti-brokerbabble to describe the building: "This affordable housing rental building will be built over the site of a former gas station and toxic spill."

Applications [pdf] are due October 1st.
