The Woolworth Building may be one of the most recognizable and famous in the world, but the five-and-dime founder commissioned a few other surviving homes in the New York area, including the stately Winfield Hall in Glen Cove and a trio of townhouses on East 80th Street that he had built for his daughters. Not mentioned in the Times article is the New York house where Woolworth lived while getting his small retail business off the ground, before he became one of the richest men in the world. Anyone know where it is? [NYT]
