Time for another check-in with "The Sphere," the bronze Fritz Koenig sculpture that's been standing in Battery Park for the past decade. It will probably be moved in a month or two for the renovation of the park, which adds new urgency to the ongoing discussion of its next home. The Times has a review of the possibilities: on the 9/11 Memorial plaza (unlikely), in Battery Park (possible), or the plaza where the performing arts center is eventually supposed to go (a potential win/win). Koenig himself is apparently prepping his own idea for the relocation of the sphere to somewhere within the WTC site. [City Room; previously]
