It pays far better to play a cop on tv than it does to be one in real life. Mariska Hargitay, who plays L&O: Special Victim's Unit detective Olivia Benson, just bought an Upper West Side mansion for $10.7 million, according to the Post. The 6BR/9BA townhouse was pricechopped down from $12.5 million before she purchased it. After-the-fact clue: Hargitay is the buyer from Los Angeles. Hargitay seems to be a much more savvy real estate operator than her former on screen partner Christopher Meloni, who was offering a Porsche Panamera as a door prize to anyone who'd buy his $12M condo, before pricechopping it down to its current ask below $10.4M.
