Plans for the zombie hotel at 163 Orchard Street have been revamped once again, with latest architects ADB Associates pulling back from the LES House of Detention-style design that marked their first crack at the project, which Bowery Boogie described as "gut-wrenching [and] vomit-inducing." Glass is always a good fallback position to take in these situations it seems, so the latest renderings from ADB show a facade that looks like a vertical tinted fish tank by Piet Mondrian. A flash of red at street level will help identify the hotel to those in neck braces, unable to look up and see the building jutting far above its neighbors on Allen Street.
