"The house was the Salander-O'Reilly gallery for a while until they went bankrupt in 07 for doing the dirt. Then Rosen picked it up and it became the Kips Bay showhouse in 09, when I'm sure a few of us got to gawk around in there... The original detailing seemed mostly on the public floors, which were pretty fantastic and could work pretty much unchanged in a single family house. The upper floor rooms were pretty standard office/gallery spaces from what I could tell. But since then, it's been converted back to straight office space on those floors. Any house that's been though that process (single family - gallery - design showhouse - office space - single family) is going to need some extensive renovation."?dasracht [Prime Minister of Qatar Buys UES Mansion for $47 Million]
