Preservation Watch

The Landmarks Preservation Commission has already said no to a request to landmark 186 Spring Street, former home of Beastie Boy Adam Horovitz. But preservationists haven't given up the fight. They held a press conference today to urge the city not to let developer Stephane Boivin demolish the place, which "played a profound role in shaping the post-Stonewall gay rights movement as well as the early days of the fight against AIDS." We are, admittedly, pessimists, but we're not expecting to see results from this campaign. [GVSHP; previously]
