Navy Hospital Complex Still as Spooky Looking as Ever

New, 1 comment

If Douglas Steiner is serious about turning the Naval Hospital Annex at the Brooklyn Navy Yard into a Hollywood-style studio and technology/media campus with sound stages and a back lot, he should schedule a shoot for a low-budget horror movie on the grounds before it gets renovated. We featured some shots of the hospital annex from two years ago last week, and it does not look like the conditions of the grounds or buildings have improved much in the interim, based on recent photos in The New York Times. Crumbling walls, creeping vines, and stagnant pools filled with murky water have Stabby Asylum Demons - The Movie written all over them. At the very least, a live-action Scooby-Doo sequel. We have no doubt that Boro President Marty Markowitz would agree to a cameo as an unmasked villain who would've gotten away with it too, if it weren't for the interference of some meddling kids.
