When Gateway Plaza revealed its new anti-pet policy, residents were furious. Even Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver got in on the outcry, declaring the policy to be in violation of rent-stabilization agreements. Earlier in the week, the LeFrak Organization backed off its requirement that cats be declawed, and now they've backed off the $250 annual pet fee, as well. The residents aren't backing off anything, and are still demanding that breed and size restrictions be lifted. [DNAinfo; previously]
