Huguette Clark Apartment May Sell in Partial Combo

New, 4 comments

A private equity financier is ready to pull the trigger on purchasing one of Huguette Clark's remaining 8th floor apartments at 907 Fifth Avenue if he can get board approval, something that was not forthcoming for the Prime Minister of Qatar, Sheik Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabr al-Thani. Frederick Iseman plunked down $22.5 million for apartment 8W (3BR/6.5BA) overlooking Central Park at 72nd Street, according to the WSJ. The Sheik was prepared to spend $19 million for 8W and $31 million for 8W and 8E in a full-floor combo, but 907 Fifth's co-op board rejected the sale for a number of reasons. Iseman's offer is $3.5 million above the current ask for 8W, but Iseman also wants to buy at least part of 8E on the same floor. Will the board approve, or has the building become spoiled by only having dolls as neighbors for the last two decades?
