Inside Frank Sinatra's Penthouse, Now Officially for Sale

New, 29 comments

The listing announced itself in advance, and now it's officially here: the duplex penthouse at 530 East 72nd Street that once belonged to Frank Sinatra. Ol' Blue Eyes helped to design the place and lived there from 1961 to 1972, but these days it looks quite a bit different. It last sold in 2010 for $2.495 million, at which point it needed some renovation. Is the makeover worth the current $7.7 million ask? Here's what the brokerbabble has to say about the renovation:

The main floor consists of an open kitchen, dining room, living room, and 3 bedrooms - all with gorgeous views of the river. Night and day you will be transfixed by the incredible wrap around terrace. But this is only where the extravagance begins. Up a glass spiral staircase - the exact same one used in the Apple Stores - the master suite is revealed. From sunrise to the wee small hours of the morning, you will be absolutely captivated by the soaring 18 foot ceilings and magnificent views.
This one-of-a-kind suite built on two floors, provides ample living space, closets, and perks once reserved for the Chairman of the Board. Another wrap terrace is off the master bedroom. It features a putting green, solar panel, and even more views so remarkable, youll feel as if you have the world on a string. As if all this wasnt enough, the apartment comes with a private gym in the basement of the coop that can double as a maids quarters. There are many penthouses for sale in Manhattan, but there is only one like this, only one that was good enough for Ol Blue Eyes, and only one opportunity for you have all or nothing at all. We're feeling the urge to buy a Macbook. Here's the floorplan:
