There are plenty of luxury apartment and condo buildings in New York City that have courtyards and rooftop terraces to rival the outdoor spaces of some of the city's chicest venues. In fact, some are so fancy that couples are opting to get married there. One couple wed in the 8,700-square-foot landscaped courtyard of Griffin Court on West 54th Street, and another chose the rooftop deck of the L Haus. Another duo hosted 450 guests at their wedding at Cipriani Wall Street, part of a development that also includes condo units, where the bride's mother lives. The Post reports that many couples who get hitched in their buildings do so as a money-saver?apparently dropping more than a million bucks on an apartment can really drain your bank account.
The trend for party space is a building is a make-or-break point for some clients, says a broker at Prudential Douglas Elliman. One person actually chose a smaller apartment because the building had a better party space. We're guessing that the management didn't require all guests to wear wrist bands before entering.
