If Major League Soccer wants to take over part of Flushing Corona Park to build a 25,000 seat stadium, it has to find new land to replace the acres of park it will displace. MLS wants to build the new $300 million stadium on the current site of a man-made lake, but locals may balk at replacing the lake with wetlands purchased from the MTA that won't be very usable for recreation.
