More than the ticket prices are going to be steep once the renovation of Madison Square Garden is complete. A tour this week of the under-renovation Garden revealed a redesigned upper bowl that brings fans in the cheaper seats closer to the action on the floor/ice, while providing more space for concessions. The pitch of he upper bowl has been increased by 17 degrees, according to Crain's, bringing fans 10 feet closer towards the court. The steeper grade opened up space in the 8th floor concourse, and the renovated arena will now include food from chefs Jean-Georges Vongerichten, Andrew Carmellini and restaurateur Drew Nieporent. The Gardens's "blue seats" will also return to the arena, with 1,000 of them in the traditional blue color being placed in the western section of the upper bowl, according to the Post.
