Last week The Daily News discovered that with the aid of strong optics, you could see inside the well-windowed bathrooms of the Boom Room Room at the top of the Standard Hotel. Hotel management let us know: "We are bemused by the vivid imaginations of the Daily News reporters and impressed by the staged telephoto handiwork of their photographers. The Top of The Standard on the 18th floor, 213 feet above ground level, is now in its 4th year catering to the world's most distinguished clientele and privacy in the restrooms has never presented itself as an issue. Notwithstanding the improbability of the sightlines, we respect the modesty of some of our clients and will remind them to use the curtains if they wish." [Curbedwire Inbox]
