Plans to update the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Fifth Avenue plaza with 100 tables, 400 chairs, and a food kiosk appeared to be sailing along. However, the Post reports that nine of Fifth Avenue's toniest co-ops have entered into an agreement with the Met where the number of tables and chairs is reduced to 30 and 120, respectively, and the food kiosk is done away with entirely. In exchange, the co-ops will not criticize or sue the museum for one year. "This isn't some sort of sidewalk cafe or food court," said one resident, presumably continuing, "Alfred! Fetch my fainting couch!" and then slapping everyone in the face with a silk glove. [NYP]
