In the Rezone

New, 11 comments

The final public hearing on the proposed Hudson Square Rezoning will be held tonight at 6:30 p.m. at the Fire Museum at 278 Spring Street. The rezoning would allow residential development in the area bounded by West Houston, Canal Street, Sixth Avenue, and Greenwich Street, with height limits on new construction and other restrictions meant to create a mixed-use neighborhood. Opponents have so far been most concerned about the rezoning's affect on the South Village if it isn't landmarked. But neighborhood chocolatier Jacques Torres promised free chocolate to rezoning supporters, so maybe that will sweeten the deal (sorry) for some attendees tonight. [CurbedWire Inbox; previously]
